【時代論壇訊】傘城網上教會（UCC）發起網上聯署請願，要求警方撤回將六月十二日警民衝突定性為「暴動」的指控。截至香港時間今天（六月十五日）中午，已收集逾五萬個聯署。

聲明強烈讉責警務處處長盧偉聰粗疏地立論，基於局部警民衝突而把數萬人的和平示威定性為暴動，並向市民發動不合比例的暴力襲擊。

聲明指出，警察在沒有事先警告下開槍，有中學教師被射中頭部；另有多位市民中槍，頭部受傷。此外，警方被拍攝到向記者發射催淚彈，挑釁記者「記你XX」，挑釁牧師「叫你的耶穌出來見我」。

譴責警方將和平示威定性暴動
我們不是暴動！要求警方撤回「暴動」聲明

6月12日於政府總部前的和平集會，因部份立法會防線受衝擊，發生警民衝突，警方藉此局部衝突，向多處和平集會民眾施放催淚彈，發射布袋彈及橡膠彈，向記者施襲。有中學教師在警察沒有警告下開槍被射中頭部，另有多位市民中槍，頭部受傷。警方被拍攝到向記者發射催淚彈，挑釁記者「記你老母」，挑釁牧師「叫你的耶穌出來見我」，部份警員已淪為「暴徒」，向手無寸鐡的和平示威者施以不合比例的暴力。

政務司司長張建宗已表明將金鐘衝突定性為暴動，以及開槍發射橡膠子彈的決定完全是警方的決定。我們強烈讉責警務處處長盧偉聰粗疏地立論，基於局部警民衝突而把數萬人的和平示威定性為暴動，並向市民發動不合比例的暴力襲擊。我們要求警務處處長盧偉聰撤回將是次集會中的衝突定性為「暴動」的不合理決定。

Condemnation of police classification of peaceful protests as ‘riots’
Demand retraction of ‘riot’ classification by the police

Police fired tear gas, bean bag rounds, and rubber bullets towards the peaceful assembly on June 12, even attacking journalists. Their justification of the use of force was that part of the police barricade outside the Legislative Council Complex was charged, and that violent conflicts had occurred.

A secondary school teacher was shot in the head without any display of warning by the police. Many other citizens were shot in the head. Police were filmed firing tear gas directly towards journalists, and provoking them saying “Journal your mom” (“Journalist my ass”). The police also provoked church pastors by saying “Ask your Jesus to come out and see me.” Part of the police force have demonstrated the same qualities of thugs, using an excessive amount of force and violence against the unarmed peaceful protestors.

Chief Secretary of Hong Kong Matthew Cheung said the decision to declare the conflict as a ‘riot’ and the use of rubber bullets was solely made by the Hong Kong Police Force.We strongly condemn Commissioner of Police Stephen Lo Wai Chung’s decision to declare the conflict during the peaceful protest taken part by tens of thousands of citizens as a ‘riot’, and for taking excessive violent action against citizens. We demand Commissioner of Police Stephen Lo Wai Chung retract the irrational classification of the conflict as ‘riots’.

We are the witnesses of the peaceful assembly. We call for all who had witnessed the peaceful assembly and protest to become witnesses. Petition for the police to retract their inaccurate judgement to classify the events as a ’riot’.
